Harvest Hosts Guest Review

“We have only been doing Harvest Hosts for a couple years now, but this was our favorite so far, by far. It was a very hot day, and we almost decided to just keep driving, but we are so glad that we did not. Being around the horses, minis and donkeys was just a wonderful experience. We were on the lower level essentially surrounded by the pastures and corrals, so we considered the animals our “neigh”bors. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.) We got to visit with all of them, many came right up to us, and some were quite friendly. The scenenery was also quite lovely and the sunset over the pastures and horses was spectacular. We were also treated with a firefly show before we went off to bed. We lucked out because it cooled off nicely in the evening thanks to a breeze that was fairly constant. We just loved going off to sleep and waking up in the morning with the sounds of winnies and neighs in the background. It is a very special place and Nanci and her partner are doing wonderful work. Oh, one other great thing it that it’s less than 10 minutes off route 90! Definitely check it out.”

Harvest Hosts Review

“Indeed, this location is very peaceful. Looking for overnight accommodations in my small RV near the Empire Trail so I could do some biking, this Harvest Host location was perfect. About a mile from the trail, which has Albany to the east and Buffalo to the west, Peaceful Acres is home to countless rescued animals (mostly horses, but also donkeys, goats and “mini”-horses). Host Nanci welcomed me at the gate, had me follow her up the hill to an old tennis court where I could park. Perfectly level ground, with a breathtaking look over the farm and across the valley, with mountains in the distance. I was blessed with an amazing sunset! I enjoyed a quiet evening and overnight with just the sound of wind as a lullaby to sleep. Turkeys visited me during my morning coffee. During a morning walk around the farm, I visited many horses, peeked inside the yurts and came across a darling cabin perched high atop a hill (also available for overnight accommodations). After hearing Nanci’s story and a walk around the farm, I was compelled to donate more than the suggested Harvest Host minimum. The overnight stay was lovely, but I felt a moral imperative to contribute to help this farm as it provides a home to beautiful animals that would have otherwise been sent to the slaughterhouse. I highly recommend a stay at Peaceful Acres Horses farm.” – Barb A
