Programs with the Rescued Horses at Peaceful Acres
Our Programs are non-riding based and the horses are nearly all rescued from neglect, abuse, or shipment to slaughter. We have provided a new “career” for the animals in our care. Many come from over-worked and under-cared for situations, so we like to do most of our work alongside of them instead of on their backs. While we are not against riding, we are home to mostly retired, senior, and special needs horses who have so much to offer in ways other than riding.

Programs
We offer programs for people with personal and professional goals who are interested in the enriching and unique helpful abilities that horses add to Equine-Guided Emotionally Supportive Programs and Equine-Led Leadership Experience sessions led by Leadership Coach, Nanci Beyerl.
Our programs provide participants the opportunity for social, emotional, and behavioral personal and professional growth. We serve youth, teens, families and adults whose goals are: to become better leaders, improve communication skills, increase hope and confidence, develop clarity in direction and decisions, emotional stability, and discover purpose and potential within their lives.
One of our main objectives is to positively impact our community and offer a Stable Place for the valuable people that support, participate with and care for PAH in many ways!
Horses, Mini Horses, Mules and Donkeys are also called Equines.
Connection with Horses, Nature & Each Other
The range and variety of programs, services and ways to connect that are offered at Peaceful Acres, and by Nanci Beyerl are unique. We like to do things a bit differently around here. One reason is that the connection with nature, and the animals that live at Peaceful Acres can positively impact all sorts of people in many transformative ways. There is a peacefulness and freedom found at Peaceful Acres that creates an almost indescribable change in us – the community, volunteers/caretakers, donors and participants.
Whether you are a middle-school age youth trying to navigate the challenges that come with increased independence and pressure from peers, and you could use some guidance in developing your courage and clarity of communication, or a teen that is facing more than you expected, and could really benefit from a real-world connection in a Stable Place, PAH programs could be a positive and lasting influence in these areas of need.
Perhaps, you’re an adult that is noticing that something is missing from your lifestyle, and you don’t like how you fill your free time – you want a more meaningful and fulfilling way to use your time and attention. I think a lack of connection with nature, others and animals can leave us kind of bored, lonely and sad. Getting involved with positive new activities creates a ripple-effect of healthy changes that can surprise us. Simple changes, and choices when done consistently, can lead to an improved quality of life. PAH loves being a part of this transformation for people.
The opportunities at and through PAH, and Nanci can be helpful, and bring joy to people that are going through really difficult challenges in life, or simply just LOVE horses, and being a part of a passionate group of people who want to do some good in the world. We try to meet you where you’re at and to encourage, learn and improve our lives, and the lives of those around us together, especially the horses, minis, donkeys and mules!
Why Coaching Sessions with Horses Work
When partnered with people in coaching sessions, horses have proven to provide a unique and empowering element to programs that help people to break through a personal limited mindset, feeling stuck, or a lack of direction and purpose. Horses are able to connect with people in a way that can sometimes be difficult to accomplish in other only person-to-person coaching settings. The natural environment at Peaceful Acres allows for big positive changes in our emotions and action-plans to lead to improvements in mindset and habits to accomplish goals. Here at Peaceful Acres we share the intuitive and powerful gifts that horses naturally have to help people. They are enjoyable to spend time with and in a natural, unpressured environment, they act as an incredible assistant and asset in understanding how to become better leaders, more courageous individuals and gain clarity in our decision making.
