Rescued Donkey saved as a baby by PAH Melody

Melody

Melody

Melody arrived at Peaceful Acres with her mother Daisy from an auction in New Jersey (2012). She was malnourished and suffering from a severe case of pneumonia.

Melody has been through many difficulties since she arrived, including a mystery illness that left her unable to stay standing or get to her feet once she went down. A team of dedicated volunteers would spend the days and nights with her in shifts and would lift her when she didn’t have the strength to do it alone. The right medicine, care, and fight to not give up was worth it. She pulled through and she is now happy and thriving thanks to the loving care of our staff and volunteers. Melody’s rambunctious attitude as a little one has turned into a fun and sociable personality. She is an absolutely beautiful, strong and confident donkey.

Due to Melody’s rough start as a baby she was prone to illness early in her life. If it wasn’t for her and Daisy being saved by PAH and given veterinary care, medicine and round-the-clock care, she would have surely died.

She has been cared for by Nanci and the team at the farm for more than 10 years and is a lovely, beautiful and strong grown donkey now. Thanks Team PAH!
