Individual or Couple PAH Activities with Rescued Equines Form

Peaceful Acres Horses, Inc. is a small nonprofit equine (horses, donkeys, minis and mules) rescue sanctuary in beautiful Upstate NY. PAH is a donor and volunteer supported organization. One of our main objectives is to provide loyal long-term care to previously at-risk and slaughter-bound equines. 70+ rescues live at the sanctuary receiving compassionate and high-quality care daily. We love to partner people with horses in positively impactful and hope-boosting programs. Activities at PAH benefit the herd. Founder and Executive Director of PAH, Nanci Beyerl, MSW, specializes in equine-assisted leadership coaching and emotionally supportive programs to help participants discover purpose, joy and courage in their lives. Group activities are available also — to fill out the form for a group experience instead, click here.

Brief overview of popular activities and experiences at PAH:

Quality Companion Time class is a low-pressure small group class with an objective of learning, loving on, and bonding with a special rescued equine. This is an excellent choice for the person who is unable to commit to the in-depth and extensive training required to be part of the active equine care team (volunteer). If you love what we do, you love horses, and want to spend quality time with the rescues under the guidance of PAH Founder, certified Maxwell Leadership coach, and expert horse-handler, Nanci Beyerl, you will love this class. One weekday evening a month Spring-Fall.

Equine-Led Leadership coaching sessions are for the person ready for a challenge. If you know that you have the potential to be a leader, or lead even better, and you want to maximize your success, this equine-assisted coaching is for you. Led by Nanci Beyerl, MSW, with the intuitive help of rescued equines.

Equine-Guided Emotionally Supportive Programs help participants to identify and overcome emotional struggles. If you are trying to process a trauma, loss, or need assistance discovering new hope and purpose in your life, this may be just what you need. The PAH rescued equines have a special way of connecting with people in positively transformative ways. Coach Nanci creates a customized plan to help you build your strength, courage, and stability.

Equine Care Training Course is for people interested in gaining as much knowledge about properly caring for rescued equines as possible. Included: application, introduction, orientation, group "Hello" indoor arena exercise, 4 weeks of in-person hands-on stable and horse care training, Horsemanship class #1, 2 weeks of training, Horsemanship class #2, evaluation and continued education through weekly equine care team member shifts. Hours of experience can be tracked for Pre-Vet, etc. students.

Couples Connect equine-guided experience is appropriately named. The goal in these sessions is to reconnect, or deepen your connection with your spouse. Horses help to break through awkwardness, emotional blocks, and troubles with communication. This is a customized package that will have a focus on accomplishing your goals as a couple, and helping you to feel in-tune with each other again. Plus, you'll learn more about yourself, ways that you may be communicating with your body language in ways that you were unaware of, and how we can improve your non-verbal talk too!

Retreats change with the seasons, and the focus topic that Nanci is currently offering. We will go over details after reviewing your interest form!

Horsin'Around Buddy Program is one of our most popular activities. This is exclusively for equine care team members (PAH volunteers) who regularly and effectively cover 1+ rescue care shift a week, after completing training. Participants get the joy of forming a bond with a special Buddy equine in monthly small group classes. It is a favorite way to also deepen our roots with each other as a community. Activities are ground-based, and led by expert horse-handler and leadership coach Nanci. Buddies get bonus perks as a 'thank you' for their commitment to helping to care for the herd. Growing, learning, and enjoying time together in the Stable is a core value of PAH. We work hard, and then do a little Horsin'Around!
