Training Post: Events, Marketing and Drawing People to Peaceful Acres Horses.

What if someone shows up while I’m volunteering and does not have an appointment?

How do I tell people the ways to get involved the right way?

GENERAL RULES:

1.) Where you leave an Equine, neatly leave their halter and lead rope on the nearest gate or hook.

2.) Put things back where you found them.

3.) If you open it, close and lock it.

(including stalls and gates, please – be sure to secure them properly)

4.) If you turn it on, turn it off.

5.) If you empty it, fill it back up.

(if we are out of stock email: helloPAHconnect@gmail.com)

6.) Don’t touch the electric fence or crawl under it.

7.) Don’t hand feed the Rescues anything: treats, grass, or grain.

(it would encourage nipping)

8.) Don’t muck a stall while a horse is in the stall.

9.) Don’t groom any Rescue without them being tied up properly or without being trained to do so safely.

10.) If the Rescue already has a halter or lead rope on, leave it on.

(this is part of a training process, and they may be a very difficult to halter rescue)

11.) If you are the last to leave the farm: close all bars (or overhead doors in the winter), and turn off all lights.

12.) If you don’t know or are unsure, please ask!

13.) Regularly check the Active Volunteers Facebook Group for announcements, trainings and connecting with others.

14.) Please let multiple people know ASAP if you cannot make it to your committed volunteer time-slot. (Doris, Nanci and Stacy)

15.) Familiarize yourself with the available resources for properly telling others about PAH so we can be successful in bringing in more great people and donors.

16.) If your drive the RTV – check the diesel level to make sure you’re not driving it empty – it can ruin the machine.
